Breast Lift

Metro Detroit's Leading Breast Lift Surgeon

breast lift procedureBreast Lift (Mastopexy) is a common breast enhancement procedure that helps raise and reshape sagging breast. Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman's breast. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola. The amount of scarring involved will depend on what type of lift is performed. Breast lift can be performed with or without breast implants depending on your anatomy and aesthetic goals. Dr. Roche performs multiple types of lifts that are tailored to your body.

Circumferential Lift

Circumferential Lift is best used for slight nipple asymmetry or a mild lift. Skin is removed from around the nipple. The nipple always stays attached. The breast is then both lifted and tightened underneath the skin. A purse string suture is then placed in the doughnut incision and tightened. This lifts the breast and tightens the skin all in one move. Since most women lose volume with age and breastfeeding, an implant is also often used with this particular breast lift technique, returning the breast to its more natural volume, position and shape. A Circumferential Lift also accomplishes areola reduction if needed or desired.

Crescent Lift

A crescent lift is the least invasive type of breast lift and is reserved for patients who have only a small amount of breast sagging. The crescent lift helps the areola/nipple complex be pulled to a more neutral position. A crescent lift is made with a semi-circle incision that can be made on either the top or bottom side of the areola, depending on the amount of lift needed. Another incision is made a small distance from the first incision, resembling a crescent shape. A small area of skin is removed. The loose, sagging skin is then pulled from the three sides of the breast to make the breasts appear perkier.

Staple Augmentation Lift

Staple Lift is designed to correct breast droop and increasing fullness. The Staple Augmentation Lift is an update to the traditional augmentation Mastopexy. Achieving predictable results with no guesswork, a Staple Augmentation Lift is based on the principle of measure twice, cut once. This is accomplished by accurately positioning and stapling breast skin prior to trimming. Staple Augmentation Lift is considered to be a more precise approach to breast lift and augmentation and is a procedure with several benefits to the patient. Staple Augmentation Lift offers unparalleled predictability, and symmetrical results are often more attainable. Dr. Roche at the Bloomfield Laser & Cosmetic Surgery Center is now proud to offer this cutting edge treatment.
